1. What city are you from/ Where are you based now?
I’m Nigerian and was born in Togo. I live and was raised in Manhattan Soho.
2. What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?
My artist name is King Mickey. My real name is Michael Udechi. I got my artist name Mickey back in
Africa from one of my teach, then King was what people called me so i just put both together and it fit .
3. At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music?
I stared doing Modeling once i hit college. Throughout my childhood i wasn’t confident in my appearance. But as i grew i was told than i was very photogenic. So i began to take more pictures. I would say that’s where it all started.
4. Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining you today? If so, how?
I believe my upbringing has played a big role in shaping who i am and who I have become extremely. Most of my child hood, i was raised by my both of my parents and lived with my siblings in lower Manhattan . I moved back to Africa when i was ten year’s old and that’s when my life turned for the better. Not being around my parents and my siblings wasn’t the best feeling. I would say it’s something that played a big roll in my life. Once i moved to Africa i was raised by my extended family members. Having to adjust in a totally new environment and lifestyle was hard but it showed me a part of life that i never have seen before. The school system was different, the food was different, and everything else you could think of . But as i grew, i stared to travel more and experience new things, seeing different people, and that helped me grow and opened my eyes to the possibility and all the opportunities that a have . It made me embrace modeling more .
5. How would you describe your styleto readers who may not be familiar with you?
I would say what inspired me to dedicate myself to modeling was when i accepted that it was my form of expressing myself. I used it as a way of self love. I used it as a way of gaining confidence.
6. What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to your career?

7. What’s one reason you are passionate about Modeling and what inspires you?
One reason why I’m passionate about modeling is , it brings out a side that if me that i love . It is my form of escape.
8. Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
Outside of modeling, i would say my hobby is playing basketball. I try to play whenever I have time to. I also like music , i freestyle to beats here and there and you will always catch me at the gym working out.
9. Who are some of your main influences?
Most of my model influences are athletes. Someone like Odel Beckham Jr. is someone that has fitness mixed with fashion and that’s my model combination.
10. What are some of your music career goals for the future?
My modeling goal is to model for top brands like Dior , Gucci and other exotic top brands.
11. Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? Is it a single or EP? Also, what is the name of the last project you released?
Right now , I’m not on any project specifically but i am exploring my new look. It’s more a of a versatile look. Before i had braids but i cut my hair to bring a new style.
12. What has the response been like to that project?
I receive a lot complements on any project I’ve done. I put time and work in what i do and i express the love for it . There is always some criticism but i take in in all positive ways and keep expressing myself.
13. What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why?
I’m proud about all my projects but i do feel like some are better than others . The most recent and the one i woukd say is my best so far is my braid hair look . It was the first time I’ve ever tried it and it came out great .
14. What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.
I’m currently working on my new look as of now. I always change my look so there are new looks to come but i focus on the now .
15. What message do you hope fans take away from you?
The message i want people to take from me is expressing yourself. Express yourself in your own way. Try new things and have fun .
