Interview with @Tehfeekah
1. What city are you from/ Where are you based now?
I’m originally from Leixlip, in a county called Kildare in Ireland 🇮🇪 but right now I’m living in London, U.K.
2. What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?
If I was an artist my artist name would be T££ MON£Y but my real name is Taofiqah (tehfeekah) it’s Arabic ;) 3. At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? Music has always been a part of my life since I was young, I used to play the guitar, piano, I can sing and dance and I just love everything about music. I feel it in my soul so when I got the opportunity to pursue music as part of my marketing career I took it!
4. Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining you today? If so, how? yes definitely! growing up in a small town called leixlip in Ireland there wasn’t much to do lol so my parents (especially my dad) brought music into my life, I learned the lyrics to tupac - hit em up when I was 12 years old lmao, I used to write songs too at that age. Music was a form of escapism for me then and it still is now. I feel the music when I listen to it, it gives me shivers especially when listening to the beat.
5. How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you? So I don’t make music, but I help musicians, the sound we work on is very universal and diverse. We want to help the musicians grow and be seen in their best light!
6. What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career? Definitely my passion for the arts helped me with dedication for a career in music. I love all things creative.
7. What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you? I am definitely passionate about music cause of my dad, we used to bump old school r&b, rap & african music growing up he also taught me how to dance and play the guitar so I give my kudos to him on that part! What inspires me now is seeing how other people are so passionate about their music career, they are hungry and ready to dominate the music world and I will do everything I can to help them succeed (which I already have ;))
8. Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative? Yes I love all things food, fashion & marketing. I also do sports such as tennis, pole dancing & kickboxing. I like to read, chill and binge Netflix, especially now with lockdown!
9. Who are some of your main musical influences? I love Rihanna cause she’s a bad b like me! BEYONCÉ is also amazing I legit call her my mother. I loved pop smoke & king von too. RIP <3
10. What are some of your music career goals for the future? I definitely want to break into the music industry in other markets such as Europe the sound in France, Spain and Amsterdam is dope af and I need to tap in ASAP!
11. Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? Is it a single or EP? Also, what is the name of the last project you released?
Right now my team are currently carrying out consultations for musicians who are looking for management, need help with branding/marketing/social media and also setting up meetings for people who are trying to sign to major record labels such as rocnation so if anyone is interested in that they should deffo email socials@taomarketing.co with examples of their work! 12. What has the response been like to that project? The response to up and coming artists has been amazing especially thanks to clubhouse. There’s a lot of talented people in this world who just need that extra push and guidance to help them breakthrough and thats what I’m here for!
13. What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why? I’m proud of all the projects I’ve worked on especially within the female music industry, putting together some videos and content for dope artists has been so fun! I love all things creative direction too. 14. What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.
What’s next for me? I definitely still want to keep going and striving to dominate the music industry, I want to see more women in music behind the scenes and in-front of the camera so that’s what I’m definitely pushing for now. 15. What message do you hope fans take away from your music? I just want people to believe in themselves and to never give up. It’s easier said than done but there is always light at the end of that tunnel so you should keep striving to perfect your craft. You never know who you may inspire one day with your music. 16.
